Guerra: "These games help you to gain confidence and fitness"
Javi Guerra talked to VCF Media after he scored the only goal of Valencia CF's preseason friendly against Nottingham Forest, and commented on the feeling amongst the squad.
Completing the first game
This was the first game and I think that we feel good, but we have to keep going in order to start the season in the best way possible.
Returning to action
I was looking forward to playing a game, after several training sessions. We're all getting on the pace and looking forward to the start of the season.
Even though these are friendlies, we have to compete to the fullest and try to win them all, so that we feel good ahead of the start of the season.
Scoring for the team
I'm not much of a goalscorer, but I got one today and I'm going to try to keep this going.
Using preseason for improvement
Every preseason is hard, but it's all about improving so that we can be in good form in the league. These games help you to gain confidence and fitness. We try to get to a good level for the start of LaLiga, which is what really matters.
The team look very motivated and I think that we saw during the game that the level was high throughout. We have to keep this going.
Both in Slovakia and Switzerland we need to keep improving ahead of the start of the season.
His aims for the summer
It's my first preseason that I've had with the first team from the start, and I'm looking to keep on doing what I did last season.
